How to Use this Guide
To fully thrive at all levels; physically, emotionally and mentally, it is important that we look at those parts of our lives that are out of balance and work to rebalance them.
For most of us this starts with what might seem to be simple changes, but those changes can make a huge difference, not only to our health, but also to an understanding of what supports our health, and importantly, restores a feeling of being in control.
We understand that not all changes are easy to implement and some can even seem daunting. However, we believe that by making information accessible people can decide which activities are appropriate to their needs. Where you start will depend upon where you are in your health journey.
Microbiome
he microbiome forms the crux of healthy living, so it makes sense that any health programme focuses on restoring this crucial function.
What is the microbiome? It comprises of microbes which inhabit our gut and skin as well as our oral and nasal cavities. These microbes continuously interact with the environment and help determine how our immune system functions (link).
Inflammation caused by an imbalance in gut bacteria can lead to disease (link). Conversely, a balanced microbiome is associated with positive health (link). Everything we do affects our microbiome – not just what we eat. For example – walking, travelling, gardening, sunlight, hugging, laughing, the air we breathe all change the microbiome.
Meditation
Possessing confidence and motivation is essential in making lifestyle improvements. This programme promotes meditation as a means of adopting and sustaining the positive changes we make to our health.
This Optimisation Guide includes:
How to avoid stress and will introduce relaxation techniques and meditation.
How to improve your digestion.
How to improve your overall health.
