Trained as a scientist, with post grad research in biological anthropology Carol was diagnosed with an incurable disease at 24 and spent her late twenties looking for answers. In 1982 she exchanged her PhD for an intense training in alternative medicine and has since worked in the field as practitioner, teacher, published author and documentary film maker.

Despite a slew of serious diagnostic labels, including several picked up while setting up clinics on the frontline in various parts of the world, she last took a pharmaceutical medicine 40 years ago.
