Mental Wellbeing

We’re launching a transformative project focused on holistic mental well-being, encompassing the mind, body, and soul. Our goal is to uncover the root causes of mental health challenges, not just treat the symptoms. To achieve this, we need the dedicated support of the PHA network, volunteers, and experienced practitioners.

Join us in making a meaningful impact!

Global Impact of Mental Illness

Mental illness affects an estimated 970 million people worldwide, and 1 in 4 people will be affected by a mental illness at some point in their lives. This represents a global pandemic that we cannot continue to ignore, hoping that someone else will address it. This is why PHA is working hard to provide access to practitioners and resources for those in need.

Mental Wellbeing Crisis in the UK

In the UK, levels of poor mental wellbeing are enormous and rising. There are an estimated 1.2 million people currently on NHS waiting lists in England, and 1 in 4 people experience a diagnosable mental illness each year. The proportion of young people (aged 17-29) with a mental disorder was estimated at 10% in 2017, but by 2022, this had risen to 26%.

PHA’s Response to the Growing Demand

PHA recognises that the current system cannot support the demand. Through our Mental Wellbeing project, we are building a directory of affordable services in the UK, enabling people to find local, in-person support. We are also creating a library of resources offering a preventative and holistic approach to mental wellbeing services that are accessible to all.

Collaboration for Greater Impact

Collaboration is key, and we are connecting with individuals and organisations who are already providing lifelines to those struggling. We offer a platform to share their work and direct people to the help they seek.

Get Involved

Our Mental Wellbeing project is well on the way and we are working hard on our landing page to make it easier to navigate and access information so please bear with us as we make these essential changes!

In the meantime, how can you get involved?

  • If you are a practitioner offering low cost/free services, please join our directory here
  • If you are involved in an organisation supporting mental wellbeing & the ethos of PHA resonates please get in touch, we’d love to explore how we can help each other to help others!
  • We now have teams in place that are working on the following areas:
    • Children & young people
    • Men
    • Women (including pregnancy and birth)
    • Grief & Trauma
    • Spiritual & Quantum Healing

If you would like to join one or more of our teams, please let us know.  There is a place for everyone, we all have skills & experiences to bring to the table – the only requirement is a common goal to help others.

  • As a group we are currently working on a campaign to help signpost people to the practitioners & resources on our website (www.the-pha.org). If you have social media skills that can help drive a campaign, we need to hear from you!
  • If you can help compile or provide resources for our library, we welcome your input.

Please reach out to us at info@the-pha.org with the subject title Mental Wellbeing Project and one of the team will be in touch.
