An Urgent Appeal
Call for a MILLION people to help avert ambulance failure death toll
Will YOU help save lives by supporting our Power of the Pound Appeal?
What can you get for £1?
One pound will not even buy you a lottery ticket which, in the UK, would give you less than a one in 45,000,000 chance of winning the jackpot.
We are not a fan of gambling, especially not at those odds, and the one thing we are NOT interested in taking a gamble on is our health and the health of our loved ones.
Yet that is what our health service has become – a lottery – and we at the People’s Health Alliance have had enough.
When the PHA was created this year, the initial focus was always going to be on primary care. Yet, within just a month of our launch, West Midlands Ambulance Service announced that it would stop answering 999 calls from August.
Just think about this for a moment. An ambulance service has announced that it will STOP answering emergency calls!
Mark Docherty, of West Midlands Ambulance Service, has revealed that patients are already ‘dying every day’ from avoidable causes due to ambulance delays and has predicted that the service will collapse completely by 17 August.
NHS data for March has also revealed the problem to be nationwide with ambulance trusts across the country failing to respond quickly enough to urgent incidents.
We at the PHA cannot sit back and fail to take action, not with the odds stacked against us all so perilously and a potential avalanche of deaths on the horizon.
We all deserve better.
This is why we have launched our Power of the Pound Appeal, an ambitious, emergency plan that will enable us all to join together and support the critically ill in our communities.
We are urgently raising funds for first aid training and emergency equipment for communities across the UK and to support the 60 local health hubs that have already formed since the PHA was launched a month ago.
We know that this is a bold plan and we also know that donations of £1 here and there will not get us anywhere.
But what if a MILLION of us each donate £1?
If a million of us each contribute the price of a can of baked beans each month, we can start taking back our power from today and help to protect ourselves and our loved ones.
We understand the economic pressures that many of us face which is why our Power of the Pound appeal is so powerful. One pound a month is affordable for almost everybody and there isn’t any time to lose. We are in an emergency and one of those unanswered 999 calls this summer could be for us or for somebody we love.
We need to join together to take action and we need to do it now.
Is this rescue plan worth £1 to you?
It is time that we, The People, stop looking on in helpless frustration while others gamble with our health, our futures and our very lives.
We will NOT be forced into playing the health lottery any longer.
It is time that we, The People, take control.
We can start today by simply donating £1 per month. Will you join us? PLEASE help by clicking the donate button now.
A call for first aiders and medical equipment
The PHA is also calling for qualified first aiders and medical equipment suppliers to respond to our Power of the Pound appeal.
We are looking to support community hubs with the purchase of vital equipment such as:
- Triage Kits
- Spinal boards
- Cervical collars
- Multi-trauma dressings
This is by no means an exhaustive list so please do get in touch if this is something you can help with.
Please email email@example.com.
In the interest of full transparency
Whilst the vast majority of the funds will go towards purchasing equipment and training volunteers to help counter the potential catastrophe caused by the NHS, PHA will need to ensure paid staff are available to organise this momentous endeavour.
We’ve achieved much on volunteer help alone. However, we have no choice but to ensure we achieve our goals and we will need full-time staff to do this.
We will always be upfront and open about how your money is being spent as the time for secrecy is over. 100% of all donations we receive across the board will go to PHA projects and resources.
