An Urgent Appeal
Call for a MILLION people to help support the creation of community healthcare hubs
Will YOU help save lives by donating £1 to our Power of the Pound Appeal?
Since the People’s Health Alliance was launched in April this year by a small group of like-minded volunteers, more than 100 community groups have formed across the UK, looking to set up a health hub within their community.
Funds raised from our Power of the Pound Appeal are now being distributed to some of our hubs and are already helping to support lives in our communities. We have achieved so much together but we still have a long way to go and we need YOUR help.
Why donate £1 a month?
The NHS primary care system has become increasingly inaccessible, whilst pushing the vaccine and testing programme without due diligence. At the same time, emergency services are collapsing with many people in need of urgent care facing unacceptable and life-threatening ambulance delays.
We believe that it’s time to return healthcare choice and power back to individuals and local communities.
Some in our hub network are already open to the public, an incredible achievement in just a few months. Each hub is individual to the local community and many offer a range of healthcare options, both allopathic and holistic. Health practitioners range from former NHS medical professionals to therapists offering holistic treatments.
Donations made to our Power of the Pound appeal are being distributed to hubs to help fund emergency equipment and advanced first aid training as our ambulance services collapse. However, we are just at the start. We want to help all of our hubs, not just with emergency equipment and training but to enable them all to open their doors and start supporting lives in our communities as soon as possible. It is imperative that as many people as possible have access to our health hubs before winter arrives.
We understand that we have set an ambitious target. This is because we believe that the future of our own healthcare and that of our loved ones and the wider community is now in our hands. We can no longer rely purely on the NHS. It is time that we, The People, take charge and take responsibility for our own health.
We can do this. How can we say this? It’s simple…because we already are.
The story so far:
That’s enough about us and our vision at PHA. What matters most are our hubs and the incredible achievements taking place in our local communities. What do our volunteers and healthcare workers think about the importance of the PoP appeal?
Sandra Barton, from Sandwich health hub, which received £500 from PoP for equipment and training, says: ‘The Power of the Pound appeal is so important because it is imperative we get community hubs in place, particularly before the winter sets in. We can all achieve so much if we all contribute for us and for our children’s futures. And by clubbing together we will make the pound go further.’
Lisa Dunnington, from Preston health hub, which has also received £500 for equipment and training, says: ‘We have a moral obligation to help sustain life in our community which is being failed by the NHS. Current statistics show that ambulance waiting times have increased three fold and A&E waiting times are 65 times that of pre pandemic!
‘Your £1 alone cannot buy much but, together, we can make a life-changing difference. This affects us all.’
Funds from Power of the Pound are continuing to be distributed to our hubs, as donations are received. We would like to move more quickly but can only progress at the speed that funds allow.
Please help by donating £1 per month or whatever you can afford.
We can do this if we do this together. We can continue to create a better and healthier future for us all.

In the interest of full transparency
Whilst the vast majority of funds will go to the the hubs, PHA will need to ensure paid staff are available to organise this momentous endeavour.
We’ve achieved much on volunteer help alone. However, we have no choice but to ensure we achieve our goals and we will need full-time staff to do this.
We will always be upfront and open about how your money is being spent as the time for secrecy is over. 100% of all donations we receive across the board will go to PHA projects and resources.
