The word “power” conjures up notions of energy, strength, success and achievement.
However, it can also simply mean control and subjugation of those “less powerful”. It’s the difference between striving to be better than others and striving to be the best that we can be. One is an age-old trap and the other is truly liberating.
Mass programming in families, schools and media encourages ruthless competition, yet this Darwinian mindset may not be natural for us. If we consider the shadowy ruling classes striving to be better than us, then it begins to make sense why they would not want us to consider who we truly are as human beings and behave as our natural authentic selves. Believing we are separate, worse, better or different is not our natural state. What if equality of spirit, however, is?
Let’s be honest, if ever there was a time to START reclaiming our power by honouring our dreams, desires and fellow humans, wouldn’t that time be now?
Standing in our own power means casting off all that is not authentic, it means thinking, and feeling, for ourselves. It means to live in love instead of fear. It means being the best version of ourselves that we can be, in order to experience the best that life has to offer.
These prompts, whilst brief, can all be investigated, studied and their depth experienced:
- Put yourself first. Love yourself.
- Abide by your truth. Don’t go along with a lie.
- Set boundaries.
- Be the leader of your life, take responsibility for your decisions.
- Let go of the past. Learn the lessons, leave the emotion behind.
- Stop comparing yourself to others, you are amazing!
- Avoid negativity – seek happy people and situations.
- Be conscious of how you impact others.
Money, recognition, inspiration, fulfilment and like-minded people appear naturally when you stand in your power.
